I must first say- I never thought that I would ever get married! But when something is the right thing, there is such a peace and a knowing on the inside. And that's what I've experienced, as Colin and I have been engaged for a couple of days now.
It was on May 1st, after a home cooked meal at his house, that he knelt in front of me in the candle light and asked me to marry him. I had no hesitation because I know (more than I know most things) that Colin is the one for me.
Colin had already asked my dad permission, and so the next day I was eager to call him and tell him my good news. Colin's parents were equally happy, and excited to have the wedding at their home in LaRonge, Saskatchewan.
I am very excited to have our wedding at the house that Colin grew up in. We're going to have the wedding in Colin's backyard. If I were to get married, I had always wanted a backyard wedding, and Colin's mom has always wanted one of her three boys to exchange vows in her backyard as well.
The date that we are planning for is September 6th- after we get back from South Korea. But now is definitely a time to plan and research. Although the wedding will be very simple, there are still details to pull together, especially before we leave at the end of July. Colin and I also need to get an idea of what options we have for missions trips after we return from South Korea. My friends, there is truly nothing like serving Jesus and living a life surrendered to Him!!

Hi Jessica,
This is Janice (Friesen) Condon, I am so happy for you and Colin, I grew up with Colin and his brother Joe. They are both unique and fun people. Anita (his mother) was actually my social worker when I was just a little child. When I saw this change in Colin's profile on facebook I got real excited. I pray that your wedding is a special and non-stressful time. From what I remember their back yard is beautiful! Anyway, congrats to both you and Colin.
